Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Where do you supply?
    • Our customers are mainly based across the UK & Republic of Ireland (and associated offshore islands such as the Isle of Man, Channel Islands, Hebrides & Orkney Islands), with a proportion of orders delivered to Western European countries.
    • US or Canada customers: Our insurance does not cover sales or shipments to these areas. Any direct communication will be ignored and we would require someone outside these areas to deal with us on your behalf.
  2. Is there a minimum order quantity/value?
    • Our standard minimum goods value is £250 + VAT mixed goods, unless otherwise stated on a particular product's web page
    • Some products can be supplied in single items as part of a mixed order, while others may have a minimum order quantity, e.g. if they are made specially to order.
    • From time to time clearance items may be listed on a particular product's web page, which will include the details of any minimum quantity
  3. Can I use all of the sheet?
    • Unless it has been cut to its final size and/or shape specifically for you, it is standard industry practice to allow a 10mm trim around all edges of a panel.
    • Panel manufacturers are allowed a standard tolerance of ±5mm from the stated panel size and squareness. Trimming the panel ensures all corners of the panel are square to each other.
    • This practice also removes any scuffing, corner rounding, removal of edge sealing, chips or loss of surface covering, etc. that can sometimes occur around the panel edges at any point during transit. Such marks are to be expected and not classed as damage.
  4. Can you deliver to site?
    • It is possible to deliver to site, and many of our products have been delivered to residential addresses.
    • NB: Unless you advise us at the time of your order of any physical or time restrictions that make such a delivery process unfeasible, your goods may be delivered via high-sided articulated vehicles at any time during normal working hours of 09:00-17:00 (See our Terms & Conditions for details)

    • All our products are manufactured within Western Europe unless specifically requested by a customer, and are covered by the EUTR (European Union Timber Regulations), which ensure the materials are sustainably & legally sourced.
    • For additional reassurance ask for goods available under credible independent third party certification schemes, such as the PEFC™ (Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) or FSC®(Forest Stewardship Council).
    • Winwood Products has been assessed under both schemes and has obtained the following chain of custody certificates:

  11. What are the industry certifications FSC® and PEFC™, and what do they mean?
    • FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council) is a global forest accreditation body offering independent third party verification of forest management and timber products. It does not conduct the certification itself, but instead accredits certification bodies to undertake the assessment of forests, timber and timber product processing operations on its behalf and licences them to register organisations to the FSC® schemes.
    • PEFC™ (Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) is a framework for the mutual recognition of credible national or regional forest certification schemes which have been developed to meet internationally recognised requirements for sustainable forest management. It is a single-issue certification scheme, which is why its claims concern only sustainable forest management and the wood or fibre chain from the forest to the consumer.
    • Under both schemes, the verification of the chain of custody of wood is required for all processing companies along the wood chain and the trading companies, which break down already labelled packages of products.
