Mediterranean Olive is also called Italian Olivewood and grows almost exclusively along the coast of the Mediterranean Sea.

The pale yellow Mediterranean Olivewood sapwood is up to 5cm wide and clearly demarcated from the heartwood, which varies in each piece, and is a light tan to brown colour with irregular dark grey-brown streaks, alternating in light and dark brown streaks.

Mediterranean Olivewood veneer has a straight grain that can be shallowly interlocked, and a texture that is fine and even.
