Overview

Premier Grade architectural veneered doors can be to specific design using any one of our range of 350+ veneers & inlays - or any other veneer specified, e.g. dyed veneers. Both fire doors and decorative cupboard doors can be supplied as a matched sequence or bookmatched sets, and can also be incorporated into a full layout with other panels, e.g. to achieve a 'hidden' door within a veneered wall.

Typical installations are high-quality bespoke kitchens, bedrooms, bathrooms, shopfitting & joinery.

Architectural Veneered Fire Doors

  • Quantity:
    • Supplied in standard size or as fully matched sets of architectural veneered doors to specific design, order quantity & layout
  • Standard size:
    • Made to order
  • Max size:
    • Any bespoke size up to max. 3050x1010 / 2440x1220mm (or other suitable solid core material available)
  • Thickness:
    • 45mm FD30 & 54mm FD60 - Interior particleboard core
    • 45mm FD30 & 54mm FD60 - Exterior blockboard core
    • Special thickness doors can be supplied as a composite or using other material, e.g. MDF, birch plywood, but not with a fire rating
  • Gluing:
    • Moisture-resistant glue used as standard.
    • Other glues can be used to special order, e.g. exterior glue, formaldehyde-free, etc.
  • Edging:
    • Concealed solid lumber lipping or veneer edging applied before calibration of faces & over-veneering

Architectural Veneered Cupboard & Wardrobe Doors

  • Quantity:
    • Supplied as fully matched sets of architectural veneered panels to specific design, order quantity & layout
  • Standard size:
    • Produced to specific bespoke size
  • Max size:
    • Any bespoke size up to max 5000x1300mm / 3050x2440mm
    • (NB: We would not recommend doors be produced wider than 1200mm)
  • Core materials:
  • Thickness:
    • Dependent upon the core specified
    • Non-standard thickness can be achieve by bonding more than one material and/or calibrating to thickness
  • Gluing:
    • Moisture-resistant glue used as standard
    • Other glues also available, e.g. exterior or formldehyde-free
  • Edging:
    • Concealed solid lumber lipping or veneer edging applied before calibration of faces & over-veneering

General Tolerances

  • Thickness
    • Varies according to the core material used - plus nominal veneer thickness
    • NB: Premier Grade doors are calibrated before veneering to ensure best adhesion
  • Veneer thickness
    • Most veneers are approx. 0.6mm before sanding - adds approx 0.5mm per side if presanded
    • Thicker veneers will typically finish approx. 0.3mm thinner than the original veneer thickness, e.g. 2.5mm veneers will add approx. 2.2mm per side if presanded
  • Panel size
    • Standard size panels:See tolerances of core material chosen
    • Cut size/bespoke panels:Length/width: typically ±1mm unless CNC machined (typically ±0.2mm)
    • Non-standard tolerances by arrangement
