Pau Rosa is also known as N'guessa, Kisasamba, Boto, Nsakala, Oken and Pau Ferro. It is found across Africa, from Ivory Coast to Mozambique.

Pau Rosa sapwood is 1-2cm wide and clearly demarcated from the heartwood, which is pinkish white to light red in colour, with red brown veins.

The grain of Pau Rosa veneer is slightly interlocked and texture is fine.
