Prima Vera Veneered Panels & Jointed Veneer

View Prima Vera veneered panels & doors in full size

The natural distribution of Prima Vera is restricted to south-western Mexico, the Pacific coast of Guatemala and El Salvador, and north-central Honduras. Sometimes called 'Golden Mahogany', Prima Vera is often regarded as one of the primary light-coloured woods. Recent plantations have increased the availability of this species, providing a more constant source of supply.

Prima Vera heartwood is whitish to straw-yellow, and in some logs, it may be tinted with pale brown or pinkish streaks and is often considered as an alternative to Satinwood. The texture is medium to rather coarse, and the grain is straight to wavy, which produces a wide variety of figure patterns. The wood has a very high lustre.

Despite considerable grain variation, Prima Vera machines remarkably well.
